Martin's studio welcomed the finals in epic scale as they overtook their pin-up space with elaborate boards and gleaming, towering models. Though the objective was to propose a vertical city, a monumental task with broad spanning requirements, the groups were able to narrow down and detail their concepts in succinct and convincing arguments. The jury included John Cetra, Michael Sorkin, Arnault Biou, Nicholas Karytinos, Elisabetta Terragni, Brad Horn, Mike Jefferson, and Sean Weiss. (see more about the jury at end of post)
Baruch Commons: Yennifer Diaz, Nicolas Losi, Jacqueline Love, Kenia Peralta
A vertical city deconstructed into a fragmented, social landscape at human scale.
Elevated Living: Aleksandra Chepanova, Rudy Mejia, Sadie Rayne, Brandon Thompson, Wafa Kaddour
Sleek residential towers with connecting masses of shared health and leisure facilities.
Vertical Shift: Anna Lekanidis, Nikitha Menon, Patrick Muldoon, Olivia Skylarova, Fengjing You
Dynamic volumetric expressions define the stacked, multi-programmed tower.
A huge thank you to all the jury members for participating in the review! Special thanks to CetraRuddy founding principals John Cetra and Nancy Ruddy, and principal Theresa Genovese.
